"Step with care and great tact, and remember that Life is a great balancing act"
- Dr Seuss
My name is Eleni and I am from Greece. I am a child psychologist and I obtained my Psychology Bachelor’s degree in Greece and my Master’s in Child and Adolescent Psychology from Leiden University.
I started my career as a psychologist in a multi-disciplinary team at a mental health center for young people in Greece. For the last 12 years, I have been a special needs and early years educator. Along the way, I co-founded Steps Psychology where I offer my services as a psychologist to children, adolescents, and families in face-to-face and online settings in the Netherlands.
My trainings include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play therapy and Creative arts, Music Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and interventions focused on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Currently, I am also undertaking training for the professional coaching of young people. I strongly believe in the growth mindset and encouraging children, adolescents, and young adults to find their own power and resilience. I am working towards cultivating young children's social and emotional development, which I believe is a key to a fulfilled and happy life.
In my free time, I love acting and singing. I channel this creative and artistic side of mine into my work with my clients. For example, Dramatic Play encourages children to learn more about themselves and the world, work out confusing, scary, or new-life issues, develop important complex social and higher-order thinking skills, and cultivate social and emotional intelligence.
